about

'Bleu → Vert' was u/v's debut LP released through mp3.com back in late 2001. Shortly thereafter, u/v was shelved presumably indefinitely. After a one off remix for Chin Xaou Ti Won in 2017, an EP followed and finally a new album. But what about the album that started it all?

Well, frankly, it's terrible. Ok, not so much in its content, but more so in its quality. Outside of the first two tracks showcased here, the album was rushed, used shoddy recording methods, and half the album was heavily saturated with reverb to cover up unwanted noise. For these reasons, when first considering a re-release of 'Bleu → Vert' material, a two track single for Lost Inside the Biggest Realm and Yipyip seemed the only viable solution. Except there had to be a way to showcase some of the other tracks that were at least respectable but were unfortunately marred from the rather bush-league 'Bleu → Vert' sessions.

Including brand new remixes and reconstructions also allowed for showcasing some additional material that was recorded around the time or shortly after the 'Bleu → Vert' sessions. Enter 'Bleu → Vert: Extraits, Modernisations et Détournements (vol.1)', a collection of music taken from the original album, unreleased material as well as some modern interpretations of the source material. Volume 1 covers roughly half of the original album, while Volume 2 will contain the remaining leftovers.
